Designed by Len Cotsovolos of LC²Design Services this amazing vacation retreat at the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky Montana is truly spellbinding in every sense of the word. Nestled at an altitude of 10500 feet and surrounded by the snow-capped majesty of the Rocky Mountains this lavish home combines exquisite contemporary design with the rustic charm of a cabin-styled winter retreat. Designed to provide those inside with a stunning view of the imposing peaks and snowy slopes at every possible turn the home has been designed to bring the outdoors indoors!
Designers at E. Cobb Architects have outdone themselves with this luxurious Graham Residence. A consistent grey pattern — rather stylish I must say — broken with warm shades of wood and bold colors beautifully complements the amazing ocean views that are only enhanced by the huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Windows which actually define it as a ….glass house. Funny how a strong powerful material like concrete can mix ever so nicely with glass don’t you think?
The beautiful combination of contrasting textures starts with the façade of the home which features a glass and white cement exterior for the ground floor and a warm reclaimed wood surface for the second floor. This gives the home a cool contemporary appeal allowing it to blend with its surroundings thanks to the natural organic vibe.
Dare to be bold with your interior design?. While they may seem like unfinished business for your home decor concrete walls break up the form and accentuate a room with their sheer elegance and their unique personality. The raw unfinished look of concrete is inimitable while the trendy industrial style of having it adorn your walls — though hard to believe — is nothing but inviting.
While the core elements of the house are to bridge the gap between nature and modernization the divide between exterior and interior design is what makes this home so distinctive. The division of spaces allows for a more versatile setting. For starters the backyard deck opens to a gem-like pool tiled to better accent the color scheme of the house’s exterior facade.
Tucked underneath the living zone a multi-functional recreational space ensures the family takes advantage of both modern design and exceptional landscapes. A glass wall separates this space from the indoor pool allowing natural light to flood the interiors.
A stunning rain shower from Dornbracht and a laid-back and soothing Japanese bath house complete the spa section of this amazing house. A fully equipped gym further ensures that you have everything you need to relax rejuvenate and replenish at this remarkable escape.
