The living room then connects to the outdoor deck without any interruptions. You can just as easily recline by the pool as you do indoors. A rectangular tunnel that serves as the overall structure of the living room lets in ample lighting and natural ventilation.
Instead of starting from scratch the architects converted the existing living areas into cozy bedrooms and other private spaces while a brand new wing was added to accommodate a new living room dining area and kitchen. Opening up into the yard this new extension is clad in Australian Hardwood while a metal cladding lends able support. The design is simple efficient and reminds us of prefab metallic homes. Large sliding glass doors connect this entire area with the yard in a seamless manner.
The lower level is clad in chic pristine white with a living room dining area and a fabulous kitchen connected in an open floor plan. Hand-scraped oak floors and pops of color here and there perfectly complement this glossy white lacquered look.
The double-height living space boasts a 14-meter-high structural glass wall protecting an inviting relaxation and entertaining zone. Here the Horse Lamp by Moooi sits next to Mies van der Rohe’s black Barcelona Chairs and a staircase leads up to the modern dining zone separated from the kitchen by a bamboo-decaled glass wall.
Accessible via an intermediary floor the home’s four levels were designed to offer both entertaining and private zones. The top floor is dedicated to private spaces like the master bedroom and children’s rooms alongside a large panoramic terrace.
An existing bedroom was turned into a beautiful master bedroom that exudes a cool semi-minimalist style. The children’s bedroom the study and the two revamped bathrooms complete this elegant house that relies on the lovely surrounding landscape to truly give it a sense of serenity and inimitable style. With plenty of greenery surrounding the house and even a tree house that has been converted into a compact home office this truly is a residence for those who love to live away from the big city rush!
The interior is clad in cool neutral colors with white and grey taking up much of the space. A sleek and stylish living room a contemporary kitchen and an elegant dining room are all combined in an open floor plan. A moat-like water feature that surrounds the house offers a sense of security even while enhancing the dramatic look of the place.
